There have been questions concerning my “per team gate admission” – I would like to take the opportunity to explain it to you.
If a team has ten players – and each of those players brought two adults with them to watch the games, The cost for gate admission would be – 20 parents at $6.00 each for one day - $120 – two days would be a total of $240. Add in siblings at $3.00 each per day, grandparents, Aunts, uncles etc – an average team could spend over $300 a weekend in just gate. By collecting a “per team gate” I can lower the cost by not having to pay gate workers.
What I would suggest to you as a coach / team manager – is divide the number of players on your team into 180 - (10 players would be $18 each set of parents) collect this money from them – don’t take it out of your team account. – if you have 12 players its $15. Parents expect to pay gate – all you need to do is collect it from them.
Gate admission is what generally pays for park rent and lights. I know it looks like you are writing a big check each time for entry and gate, but if you stop and think about it – I am saving your team lots of money. I cannot run a tournament without entry and gate – costs are high for me also.
Please pass this information on to your parents - and don't forget, if you pay in cash I am giving an additional $20 discount (both entry and gate must be paid in cash)
