THINGS TO PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO:

1.      Pool Games will be one hour and thirty minutes long.  You will have two pool games.  Most teams will play two pool games on Friday.  Eight teams of the twenty four will have one pool game Friday and one pool game at 10 AM on Saturday.  Run rules will still be in effect.

2.     Bracket play games will be one hour and forty minutes long.  Run rules are still in effect.

3.     Championship game will be played out for seven innings or run rule.

4.     National pitching rules will be used.  Please pay close attention to these rules as I had to forfeit a semi final game last year because the coach over pitched his player. 

5.     POOL PLAY TIE BREAKERs – used for seeding brackets

          1.  Winning Percentage (Win - Loss Record)

          2.  Head to Head (if there is a three way tie (or more) this tie breaker is skipped)

          3.  Fewest runs allowed

          4.  Most runs scored

          5.  USSSA  Points

          6.  Coin toss

     When three or more teams are tied, Head to Head is skipped and the subsequent criteria in order are used to            resolve the tie(s). Once advanced to a subsequent criteria, do not return to a previous criteria to resolve the tie(s).

 

6        There will be no arguing with the umpires!  Especially on judgment calls. If you are removed from a game by an umpire it will be MY decision as to whether or not you will participate in your next game. This includes your fans also.  I have been known to clear  the bleachers if things are getting out of hand.  I will not hesitate to call the police if things really get out of hand. I will not have a repeat of last years State quarter finals  in which  an actual fight broke out.

7        I will be at the tournament the entire time.  I do not leave (unless there was some kind of emergency)   Keep my cell phone number handy and call if you have a problem.  Denton and Tina will be my assistants and one of them will always be at the park too.

8        PLEASE attend the parade of teams on Friday night.  This is an important part of the State tournament for the boys.  I like to make it a special event for them and it helps if all teams are represented.

9        Scores and pitching will be updated on the National website and just scores on the Bentonville website after each game.   AFTER the 10 AM games are finished on Saturday – I will take about an hour to post the seedings.  This is so I can check and double check the seedings.  I will then post the teams on the Bentonville website  as to when you will play. DO Not call and ask me – as soon as I am finished I will post them.  I will allow a couple coaches to stay and then verify with them to make sure we all match up.  If you would like to stay and help verify, just let me know.
